Night skiing usually starts in mid-December when there is enough snow to safely ski on Vello's Trail, locally known as The 401. Vello's Trail is groomed for classic and skate techniques. Lights span the three-kilometre trail from 4:30pm to 10:00 pm daily. The night skiing season lasts until mid April when icy conditions make the trail unsafe for most skiers.
All skiers and snowshoers must have a pass to ski. Tags are available for purchase at the chalet (open from 9 am to 5pm), purchased on Zone4 or as a last resort money can be placed in the Honor Box at the beginning of the Trail. Remember to wear your tag at all times. Ski patrollers do periodic monitoring and there are plans to install video cameras along the trail.
